Dear ACCA student

Joint Examination Scheme with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Belize (ICABelize).

ACCA and ICABelize have signed a Joint Examination Scheme agreement guaranteeing ACCA students recognition in Belize. Under this agreement, students must be registered with both bodies, complete ACCA examinations, and thereby satisfy the examination criteria for membership of both bodies simultaneously.

All ACCA's existing students in Belize, will be transferred onto the Joint Scheme with effect from 31 December 2002.

The benefits of the Joint Examination Scheme to ACCA students are considerable:

  1. upon completion of the qualification, you will be eligible to join both ACCA and ICABelize without having to take further examinations.

  2. opportunity to combine an internationally recognised qualification with a locally recognised one.

The only requirement for ACCA students is that, from 1 January 2003, as students of ICABelize as well as ACCA, you will have to pay an ICABelize student subscription as well as the ACCA subscription. No other action is required of you.

This is an exciting development which should be of value to all students of accountancy in Belize and both ACCA and ICABelize.

Good luck with your studies.

Yours sincerely
